About Me

Welcome to my teaching portfolio!  My name is Jennifer Sisco-Smith.  I am a 2006 graduate of William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education.  While working to complete that degree, I did my student teaching at the high school level.  Since September of 2006, I have been teaching 7th grade Language Arts and Literature in West Milford, NJ.  Currently, I am also pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey as well as working to obtain my supervisor’s certification.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, singing, acting, travel, and gardening.  Above all, I really have a love of learning.  If I can’t broaden my horizons by visiting a particular place, then I do so through literature or through theatrical or film productions.  Some of my favorite works of literature include classics by such authors as Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, and William Shakespeare.  But I also enjoy more contemporary pieces by Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Dan Brown, Lois Lowry, and (last but most definitely not least) J.K. Rowling.
